Treasurer's Report - Gordon reported information about the year 2005: Total income was $29,981.97 and expenses were $54,307.55.  As of December 31, 2005, the balance in the checking account was $2,258.22, the balance in the savings account was $22,026.97, and the balance in the Stark Community Foundation account was $35,806.68.  A detailed report is in the Secretary's book.  Gordon expressed his thanks to Robb for all his work in obtaining grant money for our projects - all soundly agreed.

Renovation Report - Maryjo reported that 1) she has received a check for $600.00 from Alliance Garden Club to be used toward landscaping expenses;
2) Dana Tournoux had presented a bill to us to cover wood he had to purchase for his restoration work in the attic; 3) Dana recommended two coats of high grade primer and then a top coat for the attic; 4) we need to clean the inside brickwork and the floor and then do the painting in the attic after the temperature gets warmer; 5) Robb will contact Campbell's to have them replace the downspout on the front corner of the house - water has seeped into the community room wall and is bubbling the paint; 6) Mike Aeling brought revised drawings for the restroom and parking lot - it was decided the Renovation Committee would meet after the Board Meeting to go over the drawings.

Fundraising Report - 1) Robb will be working on the Alliance City Band project for Carnation Week with funds from a $450.00 Arts in Stark Grant.

Education Report - Cosmopolitan Club will be touring the house on Mar. 9th at 7:30 p.m.; a group from Marlington High School will be touring on Friday, Mar. 10th; a Marlington Elementary class will be touring on Mar. 24th and the Clinton Historical Society will be touring on the 25th.  Martha reminded everyone that she will need to be replaced as Educational Chairman for next year.

Annual Meeting - The annual meeting will be held March 27th at 7:00 p.m. at Feed My Sheep Ministries on East Main St.  Our speaker will be Joan Southgate, author of In Their Path: A Grandmother's 519 Mile Underground Railroad Walk. Anyone who wishes to meet for dinner at Shaffer's at 5:30 that evening is welcome.  Patricia will organize refreshments; Jennie will do a newspaper article, and Robb will present the slide program.

Nominating information - Robb has asked Gordon (Treasurer) and Ginny (Secretary) to continue in their capacities.  Both accepted.  Martha will be President for the next two years and Mike Aeling has accepted the nomination for Vice President.  Several committee chairmen will continue - Maryjo - restoration, Robb - fundraising, and Frank - curator. Kay and Beth Gray are considering co-chairing education; Beth Daniel will accept publicity, and membership is still open.  The Board voted for Dorothy Deioma as Volunteer of the Year.

New Business - 1) Gordon said that Harold Thomas who did the large photos of Stark County townships is willing to sell the photos.  Robb moved and Jennie seconded that we go together with Mabel Hartzell and offer $400.00 for the photos of Butler Township (Alliance).  All were in favor.  Robb will contact Mr. Thomas; 2) It was decided we will be open the following days during Carnation Week - August 12 - 18th and the 20th and we will be closed on the 19th (Parade Day).  Some discussion was had about possibly being open Tuesday and Thursday evenings (instead of during the day), but a firm decision was not made; 3) Patricia will contact representatives of Mabel Hartzell to schedule a meeting with members from both boards (Gordon, Jennie and Joe Zelasko from Mabel, and Kay, Patricia and Robb from Haines) - Patricia tentatively scheduled it for Mon, Mar. 6th at 7:30 p.m. at her house.

Dates to Remember - 1) March 4 - Open House only (no work day) 11:00 - 1:00, Robb in charge; March 5 - 1:00 - 3:00 Frank Barrett and Faye Holloway in charge; 2) Annual Meeting March 27th at 7:00 p.m. in place of our Board Meeting

Adjournment - Maryjo moved that we adjourn and Beth Gray seconded the motion.  All approved.

Respectfully submitted,
Ginny Daniel, Secretary
