President's Report
The Straubhaer's attorney, Gardner, and our attorney, Bob Hunter Jr., have agreed to request a hearing on the deed restrictions. A pre-trial hearing has been set for Thursday, March 1. Robb informed us that the Straubhaer's were thinking about auctioning the house and furniture and has approached him about guaranteeing a certain price. The consensus of the group was not to negotiate with them on a agreed upon price. Robb distributed copies of a letter he wrote to the Straubhaer's dated 1-23-01 in which we offered $42,000 for the Haines House and a 2-1-01 letter from Gardner outlining their response.
Communications Committee
Maryjo gave a program to second graders in Goshen and to the AARP. Martha will be giving a program to Coterie on March 22. Jesse will be giving a program to the Homeworth Historical Society.
Other Business
Jesse suggested that we formally make the Alliance Historic Preservation Commission aware of the situation of the Haines House. The group thought that was a good idea and Jesse will take care of it.
There was some open discussion and the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM
