A terrific night celebrating the Holiday season
and the history of the Haines House:
The Dining Room table had scrumptious examples of Holiday recipes and beautiful decor prepared by Maryjo Hepler. The goodies were for looking, not eating- - - at least until after the guests left for the evening.
Mary Beth Hunter helped lots of guests create their own Haines House tin Christmas ornament.
The hands-on activity was popular with visitors young and old. We hope they found a place of honor on the Christmas trees at home.
JoAnne Dagenhardt greeted guests in the Yellow Bedroom and told them about Abolitionists and the Underground Railroad.
Frank Barrett manned the Grant Bedroom and told guests about historic Christmas traditions and the Grant and Haines families. The evening was attended by over 200 people.
Carolers, organized by Beth Gray, sung outside and throughout the House during the evening. They were dressed in 19th century garb and their songs set a wonderful tone for the evening.
